Vancouver

The Society for Cardiovascular Pathology had a very successful series of meetings and social events at the 2012 USCAP meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Saturday night event consisted of excellent talks by Drs. Wood and Padera showing the promise of percutaneous replacement heart valves and their potential pathologies. We then had a number of promising young residents and fellows make short presentations of their work, which were evaluated towards the awarding of the SCVP Young Investigator Award.

Sunday morning had five speakers all discuss atherosclerosis highlighting new discoveries and methods to evalute this disease. Dr. Gotlieb gave his Distinguished Achievement Award speech. That evening, we had our annual awards banquet at The Vancouver Club.

During the USCAP meeting, there were excellent presentations during the poster session, the oral session and the evening specialty conference. Everyone is looking forward to the 2013 USCAP meeting to be held in Baltimore,
